Client: City of Markham
The City of Markham selected Accardi Engineering Group for the construction and commissioning of Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) linings to rehabilitate existing iron pipe watermains at multiple locations. AEG was chosen for the project because they offered a cost-effective proposal, expertise in CIPP technology, and a proven track record for successfully completing similar projects.
The scope of the project included the construction and commissioning of CIPP linings to rehabilitate existing iron pipe watermains at John Street, 14th Avenue, Lyndhurst Drive, Alden Road, and Esna Park Drive. The construction phase included the preparation of existing pipes, insertion of flexible liners, and the curing of these liners in place. This process aimed to create new, structurally sound pipes within the existing infrastructure without the need for extensive excavation. The project included the installation and disinfection of temporary bypass systems; excavation of access pits, pipe cleaning; CCTV inspection; installation; curing and testing of new structural liner; hydrant and valve replacement; reinstatement of water service connections and replacement of substandard water to street line.
